So just wanted to share a project I am currently working on.
I have amazingly come across in my understanding the only bifasciatus with a known fader gene and I've successfully bred it out.
The fish was obtained from "ruckfules" a very reputable source here on mfk because I was in possession of many male bifasciatus.
The female I obtained is partially faded and her father was the full faded Bifasciatus. She was pond bred as well as her father and out came the fader gene.
The father existence is unknown and assumed to be deceased so its an honor to be trusted with continuing this blood line.

And once again I have to make clear she is not a complete Fader as her father. She has continued to fade as she has grown but it is unlikely that she will completely loose her dark markings.
The ultimate goal is to have offspring resembling that of her fathers coloration.
And as a side note the coloration of her now is her beginning to breed again.

She gets very light in color during courtship.
