I know the answer to this will be a straight forward 'no way'.... but still asking if someone has a workable idea.
I have a pair of yellow fader FH. The female have been laying eggs like crazy! Today is the third time in the last 2 months. First two times the male didn't have a clue about how to fertilize, so the eggs were unfertilized, with just the female tending to them in vain. Moreover it's a community setup with other cichlids, dollars etc. So in all probability, even if the male fertilized the eggs, there wasn't much chance of offspring survival in that tank.
Now this time, the male did fertilize the eggs and tending to them along with the female. So, if all goes well, and the pair manage to defend against the other fishes, is there any chance I can get the offsprings out of the tank?! Let me know if someone has a brilliant idea.
Otherwise I am thinking of putting a flowerpot in there for the next breeding attempt. All three times the female laid eggs on the glass bottom of the tank. That way I can take the pot out after the eggs are fertilized. Any other way?
My tank is a 6 x 1.5 x 2 size, with lots of driftwoods.
Also, any idea if both the parents are yellow faders, what percentage of offspring might become yellow faders? What happens when you cross a yellow fader with a thai silk?... something green??!!!
