So I have a lil 3" fahaka in a 90g atm. I am currently running an AC110 and AC70 on the tank however I would like to up the current a bit to keep things from setteling on the bottom, better O2 exchange etc. I was thinking of putting a pair of JBJ's Alternating wave maker powerheads rated for 1600gph each. I know for a fact from my SW tank that they do indeed move some water around the tank. Would 23x alternating current turnover be too much current for a fahaka or will he be just fine?

Well, I tried it and he seems to like it. He will either play in the currents or if he ate a bit much he just burries in the sand and chills. I have it set to turn on for a few hrs mid day and an hr in the evening (clean up after feedings) and it works great.
