fahaka doesnt grow that fast

Hi guys

Sizes
I bought a baby fahaka 1" and left it alone in a 125g tank. Its been 3 months and the fahaka is still as tiny as before..1.5" now i think...
i have been feeding it a cube of frozen blood worm every 1-2 days.

They dont really grow fast do they (?_?)

Color
I also notice that they turn very dark color (black/brown) when i use black gravel. So i switch to white fine sand and it transform back into fahaka with yellow belly and stripes. Is it because they blend according to the environment color or they are expressing their color and happiness for the fine white sands used?


Im looking forward to a 16" fahaka!

mine grew an inch a month till about 6 or 7 inches then slowed down. feed snails, crabs, n feeders. now on frozen foods for themost part.

mine put on about an inch per month up to 12 inches

feed it once per day and do water changes

I'd treat for INTERNAL PARASITES.

They also need more varied, meaty diet: FEEDING YOUR PUFFER.
