Hi guys,

I'm currently thinking of getting a fahaka puffer and was wondering how much feeding they need. Can you let me know what size puffer you have and how often you feed them and what type of food you feed them? If they're full size (i'm guessing about 18"), do you feed them crayfish, shrimp and clam once a day?

Thanks

Puffers once they put on some size say about 12" can be fed every 3-4 days...

As for how much they eat, depends on the puffer, but normally you would feed till they have a nice little bump in their stomach...

My old fahaka at 14" used to demolish up to around 3 mussels or around 8-10 clams in a night depending how hungry she was...

Thanks for a reply.

So how often should I feed them hard food such as clam, snail, crawfish or crab to prevent their teeth from overgrowing? Would once day or a few times a week be good enough?

^ just keep an eye on your puffers teeth, but around 1 or 2 crunchy meals a week is normally enough...
