Fahaka Feeding??

I got this little beat down Fahaka Puffer a week or so ago and he's doing much better....so for I have just fed him frozen brine shrimp and thawed market shrimp. Am I missing anything?

They love snails.... and if you can find some SMALL cray fish they love them too.

They need the snails to keep their teeth worn down.

Another word of advice once you start feeding snails, clams, and crayfish is to be very watchful of water quality, they are very messy eaters!

I had success with freeze-dried krill also.

OH yeah I allmost forgot NO MTSnails their shell is too hard and can break the puffers teeth

I doubt that. Fahakas can break through bone, an MTS snail would be short work for a fahaka.

I have read online on puffer sites that even fahakas can't deal with them.

Repair, Ive read the same thing somewhere as well...

Might it depend on how old/large the snail is perhaps?

Maybe the age of the puffer is the factor..... I would love that!

All I know is I'm gonna buy him some snails. I think my LFS has a whole tank of teeny tiny ones...I assume for feeding. I shall inquire...
