You want raw. Freeze for a few days thaw in vitamin solution.

Crayfish, pond/ram snails, crabs, etc. You don't want it to have a super hard shell like a mts snail.

How big a fahaka are we talking and how long have you had it?

From your supermarkets frozen foods section i used to feed defrosted; Mussels / Shrimps / Crabs legs / shrimp / clams

You can also feed quarantined: Crays / Snails / Clams...

As mentioned above just make sure whatever shelled item you feed isnt too hard or thick that it could break their teeth and you’re good to go...

Earthworms are also a good way to put on some weight and size, but keep up with crunchy foods too...

Does the supermarket stuff have to be raw? I found a bag of clams that are a natural but cooked I believe just boiled in water no other additives.

Definitely try and look for un-cooked if possible, since once cooked you loose some of the nutirents...

If you cant find un-cooked, i would maybe try hitting up an asian market and buy the seafood fresh, then prep it and freeze it youself for use as needed...

Buying bulk crayfish and freezing them is also a good idea... i remember hearing of people buying 6months supply and freezing it for use as they go...

Ok I’ll be on the lookout for crayfish frozen. Would it be to risky to feed live wild caught crayfish I know a lot of creeks with tons.
