I have been feeding my fahaka krill. Recently i read online that krill can cause constipation. I backed down and started feeding apple snails, fiddler crabs, crayfish. I still feed krill because i need some kind of frozen food. He is not big enough yet to go to the store and buy shrimp. He is only 5 inches. i have with held food for about 5 days and he doesn't seem to get skinnier. So is he constipated? ( I did feed tonight so don't worry i'm not going to starve him.) Any insight would be helpful

when my fahaka craps you know! and just got back from 4 days away w/o food he didnt seem any thinner either. if i had to guess your fine.

I think that's a good sign. If your fahaka had internal parasites he'd probably have a sunken stomach after 5 days.

You seem to be feeding him a good diet. Frozen market shrimp and squid are good to keep in the freezer if you're looking for more frozen options.

thanks for the replies. I was confident in the diet i had for him, but sometimes you read something and it throws a monkey wrench in everything. now i feel better. it would be a serious loss if this fish died. He is just to cool

My fahaka seems to do fine with 51/60 raw shrimp @ 4-5". I have been feeding gut loaded apple snails for almost 3 months now (rotated from raw shrimp w/o heads or legs)

Earthworms are good, healthy food too.
