i just brought home a 3-4" fahaka he was in bag for appx 4 hours.
i put him in my tank and he is lethargic (sitting mostly in one spot)
tips welcome

my ph 7.4 he was in 7.6 +
he is by himself
nitates 20-30
no ammonia/nitrites
some rock salt

Don't worry... fahaka will sit at one spot and move to the others. All fahaka varies from one another. Some are super active, some just bury itself and loach all day until feeding time. Give some time for it to get used to its housing. But with the fahaka in the bag for 4 hours, thats really really long. Usually the LFS guys says 3 hours max to keep the fish in the bag. If anything else comes up, let us know...im a fahaka owner :D

my fahaka was not very active for about 3 to 4 week after i got him. As long he eats he should be fine, just give him little more time.

For feeding tips, when my fahaka was young and the petland near by sold ghost shrimp, thats was his staple diet. I aslo would take market shrimp and tear chunks of it and hand feed him. Some feed fahaka's feeders which they will also take down but quarantine if you want to do that. I never seen a picky fahaka when it came to eating.

ghost shrimp, blood waroms and snails when young, move up to market shrimp and crayfish and more snails when is medsized.

You could also try feeding them DEFROSTED Frozen Mussels or Scallops...

Oh and please do not add any salt to your puffer tank, since he is a PURELY F/W Fish, and the salt doesn't help at all, unless he maybe had white spot...
