my fahaka is on its way what should i feed for starters? it is suposed to be between 2-3". i have a snail population of sorts. but would like to be sure it is eating. i was thinkin about getting some small red claw crabs?

I've had one for a couple weeks that's a little bigger. It's been happily eating snails and frozen shrimp. It might take a few tries to get him to accept the shrimp but give it a try.
At that size they can eat any size ramshorn or pond snails. They'll break apart the larger ones and chew up the smaller ones. I cut up frozen shrimp into 1" slices to give mine.
from a small size on i feed mine snails and shrimp/fish from the food store. Could never get him to eat pellets. They grow pretty quickly. Also mine loved ghost shrimp
