Fahaka & plants?

I have a 4" fahaka in a 65 with overflows. I keep 2 mangrove plants growing out of the overflow. I also have 3" bgk in a 12"x18x6" refugium box with java moss. Has anyone tried other plants. I just use a regular 36" dual t5 with 5500&actinic bulbs

My fahakas try to eat my fake plants all the time...so im sure they would just destroy some live
