So I recently bought my first fahaka puffer. He’s been in a 10 gal for the past week or so just I can make sure he’s eating and clear of any parasites and what not. Everything was fine until I notice his poop was very stringy today. First time I’m noticing so not sure if worms and what I should do to treat him. His diet consists of ghost shrimp, small crabs, snails and bloods worms at the moment.

Bit hard to tell just by those photos alone, but in this case may not 100% be worms...

Are you using any meds while in quarantine or were you waiting for signs such as these before planning on dosing?

I’ve used pimafix and melafix and some aquarium salt but that’s about it. Nothing crazy in the tank, just sand, some plants, lava rock and sponge filter.

I would contine to see if the poop continues to be stringy before dosing meds then...

If over the next few days it still comes out constantly stringy, then could try something like jungle parasite tabs or Prazi Pro i think it is... would start at half recommended dose though just to be safe, being scaless fish and all...
