I have a FW Fahaka Puffer in a 20 gallon tank and a hybrid Tiger/Redtail Shovelnose Catfish in a 180 gallon that both will NOT eat...

For the Puffer, I've tried bloodworms, krill & live earth worms so far to maybe grab his attention, but he simply does nothing... so far he hasn't eaten in 3 days... I'm down to maybe trying clams or snails but I'm trying to avoid this cause they can smell up a tank bad after they've been eaten or die.

I also have a Hybrid Shovelnose Cat that's been in a FW 180 gallon for about 5-6 days now that will not eat anything... we've also tried the krill, bloodworms & live earth worms for him. He's in a tank w/ Bichir's, Iridescent Sharks, a green Skat, small Pictus cats, a Gar & Synodontis cats that pretty much eat anything from bloodworms, krill, beefheart, mysis shrimp, carnivore pellets, meal worms, earth worms & even tried algae wafers since I read somewhere that they like this and veggies... He's not budging on ANYTHING...

I've read sometimes the Puffer will go days w/o eating and I know some fish don't eat all the time, but I'm also worried about loosing them eventually from not eating... Anyone got any ideas?! :nilly:

BTW... I've checked parameters of the tank the last few days and the pH (6.8-7), ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, etc... all fine & at good/normal levels... tank water about 80 degrees.

UPDATE: ...just seen the Shovelnose Cat eat shortly after turning the lights off... just happened to catch him snap back on some frozen krill... I know their more nocturnal, so maybe we just weren't SEEING him eat and he really was after the tank lights went off... we've tried to time feeding shortly around the time we turn the lights off...

...now about this darn Puffer...

^ ...yes I've thought that, but I'm sure the Puffer isn't eating... I put frozen food or worms in and he does nothing but stare at them... then of course I have to pull the frozen food out & the worms eventually cause they bury under the gravel...
