Fahaka puffer??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think for a craigslist price it a little over price. I just recently bought one on craigslist for $60 althought the previous owner wanted $120 for it at first. So yeah for that price I think it is too high...maybe you can try to bargain with him, it works for me. Also, Fahaka is hard to find sometime so get it while you can, but definitely dont over pay for it....Alright good luck man!

It's not often you see a 12" Fahaka for sale. Overpriced or not, I think you just need to consider whether you want it enough and you have $200 to spend.

Normally you can find them around 3-4'' in some lfs's. And they will be close to that size in 2-3 years. So around 50 bucks and wait a few years to get a 12''er or pay 200. IMO 200 for a nice condition 12'' is a good deal. As long as you can devote a 125g + size tank to it alone. And you do not mind buying shrimp at the grocery for food. And a smaller crab or cray at the lfs once a week , then I would go for it.---------You could allways email the person and ask them what there bottom dollar price would be.

I agree with Angler. If you have that kind of $$$ to spend on a fish & you really want it, why not? I've paid more for fish I really wanted right then. Your biggest problem will be totally cycling a tank large enough to support the bioload of such a large fish, all at once.

Fahaka and snail tank is not that bad of a deal. It always nice to have a another tank on the side with snails. I going to be setting up a small 10 or maybe 20 gallon for my fahaka puffer. I paid $70 for him/her and is 5 to 6 inch in size. Hope that helps..

I have a 200 dedicated to him/Her if i get it. With over flow w/ 5gallon's of bio balls going into a ocean clear canister and then a UV back into the tank. I'm trying to get him down i guess the fish is 4 years. how long do they live?

Should live into his teens. It's great you have all that filtration for the puffer but how do you plan to cycle the tank with enough biological bacteria to support a 12", heavily massed fish?
