Just curious about what kind of growth rate I should expect. I know, I know, there are all kinds of variables to take into account so I'm just looking for an average.

I just recently got the little guy at about 2" SL. Currently in a 75 gallon tank with a dozen silver dollars. This is NOT a permanent setup for him, this is a growout and if the SD's don't work out I'm not going to be heartbroken....worst case scenario one or two get picked off and I then move the rest to another tank. Also the tank is a growout....I also have a 55 and a 125 and am never opposed to getting a new one either, but if/when the time comes and I don't have the $$$ for another tank I can just do some rearranging, get rid of a couple of the large cichlids and move the fahaka to the 125.

So, in the 75 gallon, with regular water changes (usually at least 50% once a week), regular diet of live mini-crabs, snails, crayfish, freeze dried krill, frozen and freeze dried bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp (while he's smaller) etc...I'm just curious as to what type of growth I should expect to see.

Thanks for any input :)

For the first year you should expect to see him grow at about an inch a month maybe a little bit more if everything is on point...
