Alright so me and my girlfriend want to add a puffer tank to our collection. I've done some basic research but I'd rather get the info based on experience. So here's the list. Ps, she is set on a fahaka.

Tank size for life?
Tankmates?
Water params?
Brackish or full fresh?
Aquascape?
Known illnesses to watch for?
Food?

Minimum tank size for life-120- 4x2x2 but 5x2x2 150 would be ideal. Tankmates are pretty much not going to happen. Very rare that it actually works. Full freshwater is fine for life. Aquascaping should consist of plenty of hiding spaces such as driftwood, caves and plants ( not required but they like them). Mine rarely hides but does sleep under the driftwood at night. A good diet consists of shrimp, mussels and crayfish (live or frozen). It's important to feed shelled, hard food to keep their teeth trimmed down. I was hesitant about buying mine because I wasn't a fan of only having one fish in a tank but I have no regrets and love my little water dog.

Clean, overfiltered water is also important because they are messy eaters. 50% wc per week is fine. Most puffers have internal parasites so it's important to treat their food and their tank with prazipro for the 1st couple of weeks to ensure any ip's have been killed
