im thinkin of getting a fahaka puffer soonbut i have a few questions. first do they need any salt in theirwater as i know somespecies of puffers are brackish. Also are fahakas okay with plants or will the plants get shredded? thanks
Fahaka's are 100% FRESHWATER, no salt what so ever required... as for your plants question... it really depends on the fish, i mean if you feed live, there is a chance when your puff goes hunting it could take out a plant or two...
Also, just incase you didn't already know, it will need a tank 125G or more for a singleton...
I would never feed feeders to any puffer. They contain the enzyme, thiaminase, which is harmful to your fish. Never mind all the diseases they carry...

Most fahakas will re-arrange their plants to their liking. I find pieces of floating plastic ones all over the place.
As above freshwater (so much easier lol) and plants, I only have a baby but he is the perfect gentleman even when going after river shrimp, when he is more of a goliath who knows
Mine does great with live plants. He/She never rips them up, but i do find some floating at the top of the water because they love to borrow under the sand and that could up root the plants. Fahakas are awesome fish
