I have read a lot about Fahakas on here, and I am aware that most of them need to be kept solo. For those of you who have owned Fahakas and observed their behaviors, do I have a better chance of keeping a fish with my Fahaka that doesn't really move too much?

The reason I ask is because my small Fahaka is in with my small Marbled Goby. I was wondering if he would have a better chance than a fish that actually swims around.

I got my Fahaka with the knowledge that he would probably have to be kept alone, so I will have no problems getting rid of the Goby, but if they work together, it'd be cool.

where did you pick up your puffer? I have seen a fair amount of fahakas with tank mates!

I picked it up at Denver Tropical Fish Warehouse. I asked the guy if he could get any, and 5-6 days later, he got them in. Great store.

marble goby was the first fish my old fahaka killed. slow or fast it does not matter.

Well that's not very reassuring..lol. I am not very suprised with your answer though. I will probably end up selling the Goby.

Fishman - it was $69, which I felt was a little pricy, but I was about to pay the same including shipping to a vendor.

I just wouldn't put in anything you really like or don't want to lose. I've seen 'em with stuff as young, but never as an adult. At that point, you might want to try something along the lines of a large rock...

iv had good luck with fast fish. give lots of hiding palces too, and space for them to get away (plants, ect). right now iv had my big guy with a flying fox ,bushynose plecs, school of giant daneo's and larger tetras. theyv been in there with him for years and hes only took out one bushynose. depedns on the fahaka and the fish you add, my experoance andythign slow gets eatin.

my puff is about 9in and lives with some tetras and endlers guppies in a well planted tank anything bigger or slower he eats

haha.. I'd love being one of those "fast" fish with lots of hiding places.. uhm.. what a f'n life.. always on the run or in hiding.. can't really see the point of that.. hahaha..
