Yes it is normal. He is active most of the day. I guess i just caught him while he was resting.

Nice fahaka, yours could be a identical twin of mine. How long have you owned it. I have had mine for about a year now. And its around 7'' plus. I feed mine a cray and a fiddler crab once a week. And I love to watch and listen to the crunch.
