I would say it depends on your area and how much others are asking/lfs. I think for a 5 inch 40 bucks is good for me.

Did southern california offer them for cheap then? 2 inch clown loaches in my area are 4 bucks. Or does it take forever to double in size?

In my area you normally don't see them at 5" so don't know the price. I was thinking 40 was a good price... take them forever to grow to thst size

$40 is a fair price considering what people have been asking for recently in the market place.
