Fake plants do look good

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They do look good imo except for the big one in the second pic...but overall a good looking tank.

Great looking tank, I would never have guessed they where fake. Can I ask are the plants fabric or plastic? I've used fake plants in my display and found that fabric easily becomes algae infested and isn't as easy to remove as it is from plastic. I used to boil water and scrub my fakes periodically but man was it tedious. Recently I started using a 10% bleach solution to clean them and it works like magic on the plastic not so much on the fabric as you'd imagine. I drop the plants in the solution and 15 minutes later they're clean, then it's just a matter of flushing them in a bucket with running water and leaving them to dry for 24 hours. Not as tedious as hand scrubbing, is way more efficient but does take longer to clean mostly because of the rinsing. Still it's better to be safe then sorry and make sure there's no bleach to leaching into the water. Here's a pic of my fake plant set-up.

I assume they're not originally meant for fish tanks then right?

Michaels has the best fake plants for tanks! Many people here will sing their praises. But you're right, they're meant for home-decor-crafts

I'm definitely sold on the 3ft marineland bamboo plant, I think a couple of those will be going in my new build.
