is it safe to use fake plants or does anyone use fake plants not intended for aquarium use? (fake house plants)

i have in the past, just make sure there isn't any metal on them. some fake plants use metal inside the plastic. if it doesnt look like a good idea, then it probably isn't:)

Agreed

^x3.

Other than what is said, if it's meant to hold form it probably has metal in it... which will rust or has been treated/manufactured with chemicals that are toxic to fish. The vine types are USUALLY alright, as well as "draping" plants.

I go stock up every time hobby lobby has them on sale, which is a couple of times a year.

Herp plants are great too.

thanks the ones i looking no metal for sure at my lfs said herp plants might be ok but not for. i ask because looking for different and silver dollars are murder for live plants which i perfer
