Hey all, I've got a 90 gallon RBP tank with 3 juveniles. I currently have all fake plants, with some big roots and an tube decoration they love to hide in. My 1400 GPH powerhead is awesome, but it uproots fake plants even when pointed at the surface >_< I do want to get some real plants, but I'm not sure how much stuff I'll have to buy for them, (special lights), (nutrient supplements). I heard the amazon sword was a good plant for a P tank. What would you all suggest? and what are some maintenance guidelines? Thanks

I wouldn't waste money on anything other than low light plants on a RBP tank. Mine would destroy any plants in the tank other than java moss. Once they were adults they even shredded all of my plastic plants. Maybe you'll have better luck and it might depend on personality, but I wouldn't risk expensive plants or lights. Also, I always had to vacuum the gravel more often in their tank and plants get in the way.

Java ferns, Java Moss, and numerous Anubias species are the best place to start IMO. Depending on the location of the tank you may need to uprade lighting for Amazon Swords/Spears also, depending on your specific water mineral content, iron may be needed esp. if you use dechlorinator.
