"I knew of a gentleman who was collecting them off the street and throwing them in the back of his station wagon, and all of a sudden these things are coming alive, crawling on his back and almost caused a wreck," Magill said.

It is amazing that iguanas have survived and thrived here because last winter we had 2 weeks here in Miami of temps in 40s at night and though it usually went back up to at least 70s during day a couple stayed in high 50s .
This is certainly not Costa Rica ,Panama type temps Jan/Feb

Its usually the babies that fall . Think the older adults seek out canals and stay warmer as those water temps stay in 70s worse high 60s.

I met a guy you probably know last week by entrance to one of the Glades parks while fishing.

He kills pythons for the gvmt and had some type small shotgun and snake tracker.

I know you probably know most if not all here involved in nature so assume you know him. Nice guy showed me python areas .

Think called hamlocks (high grass marshy) . I was fishing in area he shots pythons if he saw them.

Should have some frozen burmese pythons. Maybe this will help solve the problem.

I suspect they do what gators and peacock bass do which is stay in the water esp the deep areas.

I would think a python would die if not and Miami has had cold spells before though this one is very low and prolonged .
