please tell me why the pet stores dont have to claim the proper size on their lables.i mean its out of control,i see jds that get 14 inchs and silver dollars that get 5 inchs,the list goes on.im not just having fun with this, the books in their own stores dont even come close to what they got listed,what the helly is goin on for real.

so uneducated people buy fish, and the store makes money... for years stores advertise false claims with no ill effect to them, and I still dont understand how they can get away with it...

i bought my oscar from Meyers and the reason i did is because the lady said that it would stay that size in my 5 gallon tank



i am glad i did tho because then i would have never became a monster fish keeper

Maybe they should teach caveat emptor in school... That lesson should come after they teach how to research. Those stores know that they couldn't sell fish if they listed that they got to 36" so they make it a convenient 8". The pet industry is very crooked indeed.

The stores are partially right. The fish does only get to that size, it dies a premature death in a tank that is too small after being neglected by it's owner.

This is what happens when chain stores hire people with degrees in Public Relations, and put them in charge of research/animal care.
