False Gar (rocket gar) questions:)

Hi all I have a 30 gallon river type SA tank. I recently removed the baby eartheaters so it now has no livestock. I was just wondering how long I could grow out a 3inch hujeta gar in there for?

Well they can get 8" so living in there for life is out of the question. But they are very slow growers so you should be able to to get at least a year out of it before you need to get a 55.

From my experience, females grow much faster and bigger, so I would give it only half a year for a female.

the anal fin of males is frayed while the female's is straight. also the female is usually a bit bigger (belly). easily distiguishable at a certain size.
