I had both my girls out sunbathing for about 35-40 minutes earlier today, and took some pics for you guys. The softshell (Henwyn) doesn't move around much out of the water, but the map really gets going. She found the pond within 5 minutes, and managed to tumble down into it twice while she was outside. She's a little impatient for it to be finished.

The last pic shows some of the driftwood I've collected the last two weekends. Most of the larger pieces will be going into the pond to provide cover for the turtles, gar, and bluegill.

Nice turts, however you dont generaly need to sun bade them that way, specialy the softy its very stressfull for it and can even get injurys from drying to much and rubing on the ground, softshell turtles are not well adapted to land locomocion, they only do it when its absolutley necessary (apart from basking wich most softshells do regulary but then they can go easily back to the water if they sence danger or if overheat). Also Im a bit worried about the size diference beetwen them if they are going to sher the same pond. Growing the map apart for a few years its the ideal way to go:)

I only take them out like this once a week. Usually for 15-30 minutes at a time, depending on how sunny it is.

The softshell doesn't usually move around at all, just watches me watching her.

The map will be growing in a tank indoors for a while before going into the pond. I don't want to have any incidents because of size difference.
