Hey Everybody,
I really didn't want my family to declaw our cat that we had for a year. He was declawed on his front paws 2 days ago. I notice he is quite doesn't lick his paws as much as he did the day after....we were told in a week he would be able to walk up and down the stairs (we kept him isolated on one floor for the time being) and in 2 weeks he can start to partake in activities that involve using his paws such as playing with a stringed toy.
Well here are some questions:
Has your declawed cat, is it still the same even after the declawing?
Is thier anything i can do to help Silvio (cats name) through the first few weeks of adjustment?
Do you use regular cat litter (sand), we switched to newspaper litter thing...kinda mini rolled up papers?
Also our cat is currently very sluggish and quite..is that normal then again it did go through a lot of work?
Any tips or comments are greatly appreciated!
P.S. I've done my research on declawing cats some sources say it's ok some say not. I was trying to convince my bro (he is the one that spent the $$ for Silvio because he wanted him in the first place) to try soft paws, however he said he woudn't keep up in the nail trimmings. Also the doctor wasn't on my side anyway...told my family it's perfectly fine just for the first few weeks is important to keep an eye on him.
Thanks Everybody
