My next project for the digital photography class I am taking is to replicate or copy a famous photographer's style or work. I am at a loss for this as I have very little knowledge about other "famous" photographers and I am very open to suggestions of anybody's well known favorites. As much feedback as possible is very appreciated.

I have to work with the gear I have now (Canon EOS Rebel XSi w/18-55mm lens), so nothing too fancy now...:D

Thanks

Lol. That's what I was thinking, he was one of the inspirations that got me into photography. I'd always had a little thing bugging me to get into it, but his photos really pushed me over the edge to pursue it more. Thanks Chaitika:)

Ansel adams, take some landscapes on your setup and greyscale them.

bob krist -- national geographic, nikon dvd instructor
gordon parks -- documentary
pete souza -- current presidential photographer
ansel adams -- documentary, landscape
annie leibovitz -- rolling stone, vanity fair (celebrity photog)

Ansel Adams has been mentioned twice, so I did a little background research and I think I will be using him as my example. And since he was local, I think I have a very good chance at replicating his photos pretty well. I'll have to go out and shoot sometime next week when the weather is nice, and then I'll post them up here for some critiquing. So far I think that recreating the Rose and Driftwood, Portola Valley Pasture, and the Grass and Rain will be my best bet. Still two more to go though.:irked: Maybe Sequoia Gigantea Roots? Any more suggestions welcome.

Leaves and Siesta Lake look like maybe they wouldnt be to bad to replicate?
