I used to have one like it, i miss that fish. My roommates nephews dumped food in the tank while I was gone and it died from bloat.

Beautiful fish!
Gravel, not so much.
I would use smaller gravel. The fish obviously like to sift through it all day, so why not give them substrate the can really dig in? My golds sift all day long...literally.
Anyway, not trying to bring anyone down. Very nice looking fish. I don't see them that big very often. I like the white one best.
