g'day fellow fish fanciers...

while i am not new to fish keeping, i am new to peacock bass....
for a long time they have very expensive and quite hard to find in australia..

however, i have just managed to get hold of a school of ten monoculus:naughty:.
They are only little tackers at the moment, about 4 inches long... but they have grown at least an inch since i got them a mnoth ago..

i have just discovered a high protein food that they seem to love...
its Fish Roe!! Its very cheap, you can buy it from seafood shops (apparently some people fry it up and eat it) for about $2.

just make sure that you get the stuff with biggest eggs. i cant think of anything with more nutrients and protiens than this stuff. all the hormones and minerals that the host fish had produced to make the eggs must be good for young bass and indeed all fish....

its readily available...if you blokes go fishing, just keep any roe that you catch when you clean you catch....

i would be interested to hear from anyone who agrees or disagrees about this stuff
regards
Jeff

Sounds like a good part of a balanced diet, I am a firm believer that the more foods the better. In the case of P-bass anything that is not live fish that they will eat is awesome.
