Got this 17" bichir from aquatic daycare on Friday. It's pattern has never been bold to my knowledge from my multiple visits. Not sure what it may be. Sometimes I notice a checkerboard like pattern and sometime I'm leaning towards a non pattern endli. The head shape resembles an ansorgii and so does the mouth striation. What do ya guys think?

Ya, the second to last picture is my 18" ansorgii laying on top. It's pattern cones and goes to dark to light. It took about 2 months to visibly be 100% ansorgii when those checkerboard patterns popped out.

Head shape is a little more elongated and flatter than my current ansorgii.

+1 looks like it to me as well with the patterns. Only thing is I've seen endli's with that head shape as well but it doesn't look endli to me with that color. I'm leaning ansorgii
