I saw some farlowella catfish in petco today? They got my intrest but I have never seen or heard of them before. Interested in maybe getting one. Can anybody give me any info on them? how big they get? Habitat? Diet? Anything? If anybody has some some pics would be super cool too! I would like to see some grown ones!

Size varies with species. Do you have pics of these catfish? I kept Sturisoma panamense and Rineloricaria parva before. They usually prefer fast flowing waters though and therefore thrive best in well oxygenated water. Ideal temperature would be 74-80 degrees. They'll eat just about anything but mainly relish algae. You can clip vegetables all day for them to munch on.

I kept farlo. vittata and same advice as above. they won't like any aggressive tankmates since they are quite thin.

wow thanks for the info

my Farlowella cat couldnt hang with my bristlenose, vampire, and blue eye but i have a whiptail cat that ive had for 3 years now living in peace with them. cool fish though they do alot better in planted tanks.
