could people post up adult farm raised peacock basses. I hear people bad talk them a lot and not knowing where mine were from. I wanted to get a good idea in case mine just so happens to be farm raised. I'm about to call my LFS in a few min to ask them.

nothing wrong with farmies, some of the nicest bass i have ever seen were farmies

I hope your not just saying that to make me feel better

I don't really see what the problem would be? I'm thinking a hybrid would look cool but after reading a few post about them I always thought that the adult pbass that were all brown that looks like small mouth bass were farm raised.

I would assume that your LFS will not know the main source of where they PB came from too. Which LFS are you getting them from?

got them from just pets.

It was only once that I saw some really nice ones (about 3 inch only and they all had yellow specking like crazy) I didn't have any money that day, came back the next day and somebody bought them all :angryfire :jaw:

now that I go back there they just have the same guys but it takes them forever to get new ones in

When they're small it's hard to tell what they will turn out to be unless you know the origin. All you can do is invest some time growing it out and that is what a lot of keepers are not willing to do because it may not look like what they wanted. Hybrids come in many different shades. In essence a bad investment. Nothing wrong if you like it.

Ahh thanks Ken! you made it really clear on what I was looking for! I have noticed that in some pictures of wild caught from fishers, some fish are brown and not as colorful as others. I'm assuming that farm pbasses were not dumped back into the rivers. I guess I'll just wait it out, I love those little guys!:)
