I have done it for quite awhile but have stopped because its not worth the time when mealworms come like 100 for 2 bucks, but all you have to do is buy a couple hundred and just throw them into a little terrarium thing, maybe like a lees terrarium, the little plastic kind. and throw some vegetables and random wheat bran for bedding in there and they will just turn into beetles and lay eggs, probably takes around 2-3 months for them to hatch and turn into beetles

I've got a mealworm colony I'll sell you for $20, located in 90701 - has about 12 beetles left and probably a good 2000 mealworms growing up in oatmeal right now.

Easy to sustain, just change the oatmeal out every 6-8 months and throw rotten potatoes in once a month.

I feed my aro mealworms too... its so hot in socal, so what i do is to put them in the fridge near the door. They might look dead in a cold temp but well once you put them outside the fridge for like a few minutes, they will be alive again. You can go to petco to get 100 giant mealworms for like $4.75 in a container w/ food. Hope this help.

You can also check out a Pet city, I don't know if they all do this but the one by my house in Torrance sells mealworms for really cheap, they breed them themselves so they sell like 500 for like 6-7 bucks I think don't quite remember, but I know its alot cheaper than buying it from like a petco or petsmart
