yeah sure is but having a good bio filter is the best thing you can do for you aquarium and yourself it makes maintenence so much easier
So im adding another canister onto my 90 Gal. So i should have 2 Magnum 350's on the tank... think that will make a major difference? as in lowering a slight spike in nitrates?

The goal of your filters is to convert ammonia to nitrite and then nitrite to nitrate, which you then remove by water changes.
You got the right idea, more filtration and more water changes make for happy fish.
