Fasting Fish???

What does this mean? and why do ppl Fast there fish?

I dont feed grown fish every day and when I go away for a week (or so -longer then that and I get people to feed them) they fast. Cleans up the tank nicely Never have such a clean tank as after a weeks holiday

Skipping meals or days of meals. Keep in mind fish do not usually eat daily, or even multiple times daily in the wild for that matter. By fasting them, you don't risk over feeding them as much, and in turn this kees them at a healthy weight and helps prevent them from becoming obese, and thus prolonging thier life in turn. By doing so also, they tend to become more active, bc fish will swim around more the hungrier they are, in search of food.
