We bought him as a dwarf. lol I dont think he is one. I believe he is a claw frog and eats everything in sight!!! "Get In My Belly"

lol good name for these frogs!

What's the activity level like? I saw some albinos that were tempting me.

He is a busy body and incredible funny. He will grab hold of a cube of bloodworms and you can pick him all the way up outta the tank. He grew very fast and i read that they get the size of your fist. And the elbino ones, even though sometimes sold as darfs, are always claws. I also have a dawrf in my guppy tank. He's not so fun.

definitely a clawed frog, i currently have a little albino someone dropped off at my work (petco), they are awesome very personable for a frog. Mine croaks at me whenever i'm in the fishroom and he's hungry. Just make sure your substrate isnt a choking hazard , I've lost 2 in the past because they ate gravel.

I've never heard mine croke. Thats so neat. Thanks for the heads up on the substrate. :)

I've had a bunch in the past, and yes they do croak and eat the substrate. Mine only seemed to croak at night, but it's not terribly loud. I would notice my larger frogs would sometimes have bellies that sagged to one side more than the other, just assumed they ate rocks and pooed them out. For that matter I wouldn't recommend keeping them in sand as it would seem to become easily compacted in their stomachs.

Of the clawed frogs I've kept, they seem to become overly excited in the presence of food and have seen them put others limbs in their mouth in the process. They're not the smartest frog, but are a cool frog to have. I would recommend to keep them with their own species as they are rather delicate and will try to eat anything that will fit in their mouth.

I've heard that these guys are constantly being confused with the Dwarf species.

He does seem awful pudgy most the time. I hope the sand isnt hurting him. We have had him about 2 months now.
