I was taking pictures of my fish today when I noticed that one of my female Kenyi's has gone up a few dress sizes and it's vent appears to be red and is protruding a little. This fish is the dominant out of the 3 female kenyi that I have and has always been a bit porky. also worth noting is that my male Kenyi has gotten a lot more aggressive and moved a few rungs up the pecking order.

I'm hoping that she's just bursting with eggs, but if not then there is probably something wrong and I figure it is best to ask for some opinions.

EDIT: forgot to mention that the fish is 3.5-4 inches

a few hours later and the fish doesn't look any bigger but the vent is redder and protruding. I spent about 10 minuets with my face to the glass trying to figure out if it was the vent or anus that was red and it is the vent.

On the topic of bloat, this fish has been bloated before and lived (i assume it was bloat because the fish looked like it had swallowed a marble it was so round) if it is bloat then from what I've read the fish should be past to point off no return by now and I can't net fish out of the tank without removing around 150lbs of rocks so I'm gonna wait and see what happens.

One final interesting observation is that earlier my male Kenyi, male Red Zebra, and this female kenyi were having a 3 way fight and now the males are competing to see who can dig the deepest hole in the gravel

If you want to net them wait until morning. When they are still asleep, nab them. Works like a charm.
