About 3 months ago i bought 4 midas at an 1" and now 3 of them are 3" and one is about 4-5" and has a huge stomach. I don't actually feed them that much and they all have large stomarchs. They are in a 4x2x2 with bogwood and artifical plants and sahre it with
  • 3x convicts
  • 1x Golden sev Biggest in there at 7"
  • 1x Young Jag
  • 1x Young Mayan
There has been no squabbling. I am feeding them on Hikari gold and bloodworm and prawn every now and then but the biggest Midas has a very big stomarch, they get fed twice a day somtimes once. I know that they are generally a big fish but does anybody have any thoughts why they are getting Fat. And should i fast them?

Its just plain healthy to fast your fish. I have gone two days without feeding before, actually longer than that but you have to know your fish well. Try feeding every other day for a while. Most fish can go 3 weeks without eating but dont try that. Cichlids and fish in general dont eat that much in the wild during certain seasons. Hope this helps.

Yes it has help, i'll not feed them for a few days and then feed or i'll just feed less.
