My house.
I have had this guy for a year with no growth. He eats like a champ but all my other polys are passing him by. I'm just curious as to why he isn't getting any longer just fatter! 20141228_185005.jpg20141228_185018.jpg

How big is he? What does his diet consist of? It is said that overeating can actually cause stunting, but Ixhave never personally had this experience. 3/5 of my delhezi/endli growout population began fringing on obesity two months ago, and they are still growing like weeds.

That said, It almost looks like a delhezi/endli hybrid. Could just be your substrate. If it is a hybrid, strange things often happen when breeding different species from the same genus. I wish I could tell you more.

You know I always thought his head profile was weird but never thought that he could be a hybrid because I never heard of a delhezi/endli mix before. However, now that you mention it he looks awfully like that cross. He is roughly 5 or 6 inches eyeballed and grew like a weed from 3 inches to his current size then just got fat and stopped growing longer. All my polys get a mix of krill tilapia and silversiders with krill being the staple. I might start cutting back feedings from daily to every other day and see what happens.

That is not a hybrid. It is a captive bred del. Many cb dels will stop growing at about 8"s or growrh will be very slow from then on. Not a short body of any kind. It is a well fed cb del.

Thank you!

None of my Del's have anywhere near as pronounced a set of eyeballs as this little guy. You have been deep in the hobby for much longer than I have though fram. I trust your judgment.

Thank u 4 ur trust in my judgement. Eyeballs got nothing to do with determining species or wether it's a hybrid or not.... although CBs wether "full blood" or cb hybrids do tend to have more "pronounced" eyeballs aka frog eyes.....especially evident in cb endlis. You can have 10 cb dels and none will look exactly the same. even with wild caughts.

Yeah doe. Thanks for the tip~
