fat rtc with white tail

why is my rtc's tail white? been that way since i got it. the little devil ate everything before anything else had a chance to eat last night, and he just kept eating, so now my other fish are hungry and look at him.

He is still small, they don't turn Red until they mature a little it seems.

still a baby... it's tail will turn red in a few months.

Even when it does change colors, It still won't be a bright red, more on the light side

Their tails are a pale white/yellow colour when young. I wouldnt know though.

Ive always kept wild caught brazilian RTC they have full red tails from 4".

right now it is about 4-5" in a 20 gal. i got it a month ago and it has grown between 1 and 2 inches in that month. a true monster in the making. thanks for the info about the juvi white tail didnt know that.
