I dont plan on breeding any of my tetras I have as dither fish. There are Harelequin rasboras, cardinal tetras, black skirts, bloodfins and lamp eye and they are all carrying eggs. They wont drop the eggs either. The only thing that concerns me is how long can they hold onto the eggs and will it cause death if they dont drop them? I am certain of the eggs being carried. Just curious.

Most small Tetras are egg scatters. They scatter there eggs in bushy plants. If they never lay any eggs I believe there body just absorbs it. You can add some bushy live plants or Java moss will get them to mate. My experience is they end up just eating there own eggs anyways.
