Fatal bacterium in fish tanks

Im watching monsters in side me and a baterium called Mycobacterium marinum witch occurs with fish and the girl in the show got it from putting her hand in her fish tank.this bacterium can eat your hand away to the bone. it starts out as a cut that doesnt disappeared then turns into a big bump and eats away muscle tissues.thought I would share this for all of yours saftey

This has been shared on here a few times. I think there is a specific illness the fish get in order for that to happen

Can't watch that show, would make me way too paranoid. How many people has this happened to vs how many people keep fish?
 
It is pretty rare.
 
Id really like to know specifics about this lol its come to my mind when i siphon to start the gravel vac that getting fish tank bacteria in my mouth would be no good in some way. Really hope none of my fish ever get that illness lol

Hopefully it can only be contracted through an open cut on the hand or fingers etc.
