My silver aro no.3 jumped from over-excitement during feeding time. I didn't even see it happening but following a gusty splashing, I found my arowana flapping at a corner with slime and blood all over the floor and wall. While flapping, it was going into the back of the stand and so I had to hug it (after wresling with it for a while) and transport him to a safer locating before netting him into a plastic bag.

As of now, it is swimming all right but looking very nasty. I'm just hoping that the slime coat will prevent further body fluid loss.

Don't ever keep tank lids open during feeding time! I also learned from this experience to ALWAYS keep a plastic bag or a towel nearby the tank should I ever have to grab a flapping aro again.

it will be ok, as long as there is no major physical damage. how are its barbels, fins, and scales?

MAKE SURE YOU AND SOME AQUARIUM SALT TO THE TANK SO IT CAN HELP WITH THE SLIME COAT.... GOOD LUCK AND KEEP YOU LID'S DOWN....

I think it'll be fine....;)

I'm always afraid of mine doing this.........he leaves the water all the time during feeding. I'll keep an emergency supply by the tank from now on. Thanks for the advice.

Hopefully your guy can pull through.

The fish looks all right! Aside from three largest scales it lost in the middle section (above the belly), it is no longer showing the dry marks, bruise, or signs of bleeding. These are amazing animals.
