I would like to thank this great little fish, I have kept them as residents in the past. I have fed hundreds to my native monster, and they are a primary forage of all my favorite native predators. I catch them at my parents home on beautiful Lake Minnewaska in Minnesota! Recognize! Thanks to the Fathead Minnow!

Yeah these little guys really give their lives to keep us happy.

I agree. True soldiers.

thanks little minnows!

i wish i had a place to get some minnows all i can ever get is gold fish

rosey reds are the albino form of flathead minnows just thought i' toss that in-Anne

They are also used in water toxicity tests and in lab experiments, they are a pretty usefull fish. I keep a few in my community tank that were from the bait shop, figure I would give them the life they didn't expect. :) They are also really easy to breed.

They are cool fish. I used to have some in my pond

Just remember that they have a pretty high thiamase content so should be mixed with other types of food.

Thiaminase? I usually don't feed feeders anymore, only as a treat.
