Thanks for the response ! I’ll try to grab better footage to determine it better. None the less male or female I love this fish. Always willing to eat, never skips a meal and doesn’t bother any other tank mates even if they can fit in its mouth lolHard to say but looks female. If it was able to swim and get those fins up in the air then it could be easier.

that thing is FAT! really cool, thanks for sharing! It swims for food and air. Aside that it’s pretty damn lazy and acts like it’s just decor on the bottom of the tank lolIF it can swimthat thing is FAT! really cool, thanks for sharing!
Lol yeah that's about the same behavior I had with my ornate. Only difference is it wasn't fat lol. Mine was very lazy even when it came to eating so maybe that's why mine ended up skinny compaired to yours. Either way tho, gotta love bichir's, even if they are more like decor then a fish lol. Honestly they always kind of reminded me of how allot of reptiles are. Very lazy, armoured skin and they kind of look like legless lizards. It swims for food and air. There was a short time I thought bichirs were lizards lolLol yeah that's about the same behavior I had with my ornate. Only difference is it wasn't fat lol. Lol now if only I had a tank big enough for a bichir still. I'd love to get some again but untill I get the leak fixed in the 80g or get a bigger tank, I won't be able to house even the smallest of the bichir species. Well besides rope fish but even then a 55g would be pushing the limit imo. There was a short time I thought bichirs were lizards lol
Real nice endli!
What about a Senegal?Lol now if only I had a tank big enough for a bichir still. Don't senegal's still reach a max of 14in or am I thinking of a different specie? I will definitely say tho, out of all the species of bichir senegal's have to be my least favorite just mainly due to them being so common and kind of boring looking compaired to other bichir species. Lol I'd honestly take a rope fish over a senegal any day. What about a Senegal?
I’d love a bichir, but my tanks are all overstocked right now.
