I recently installed an oem touch screen in my 06 explorer eb and it says Im in michigan and thats its january 4 2004 at 12:12 and it wont let me re-set the time or date. Since it says 2004 is it a gen3 model? And is there any way I can get rid of the navigation fault error and re-set my location?

Thank you

Go to Ford dealer they have current software and can flash (update) it for you or look online and buy the disk. It may cost 80$ or so.

Or you can try taking it off the power supply to reset it but I would think there's a reset function within the unit itself somewhere in the options menu?

Hopefully its not faulty because gps or navigation from that generation has a hard drive and vibration, age and over heating can kill it. Had this happen to an '05 Chevy cuz my subwoofers shook the hell out of it for a couple years and it jammed up, nothing I could do except replace the unit.
