I've always been up in the air about using substrate in my tank. I like the look of something natural yet easy to maintain.

I believe I found it. This would look awesome on the bottom of the tank.

Has anyone tried this?

Looks alright.. how about if your fish like to dig into the substrate though?
 
thats pretty cool, would make a sweet background as well.

ehh its ok.. i like what you have now better but i have seen some insane diy backgrounds!
 
I've seen pics of it used as a background, but not as a substrate. At "$7.99 sq. ft." it's kinda pricey too. Real gravel or stone would be cheaper and add beneficial bacteria too!
