what is your favorite african lake fish and why? mine is tanganikian fish and the species is cyprichromis.

Tanganyikan cichlids. I've kept them before and they're entertaining to watch compared to the Malawian cichlids.

Tanganyika, without a doubt.

Malawi... Color, size, behavior. (If you have the space for a rostratus get one and see what I mean.)

I confess I have had some cool Tanganyika but over time I still like the Malawi better. And well the only Victoria I have had were in essence identical to mbuna and I honestly enjoy the colors of say a nice Cynotilapia afra better than say an Haplochromis.
